Ceva Animal Health is Hiring a Fixed Asset Accountant Near Kansas City, KS

Fixed Asset Accountant
Location: Lenexa, KS

Job Summary and Purpose:

This position is responsible for all aspects of fixed asset (FA) accounting, capital assets in progress, asset creation and asset destruction across all business units for CEVA. The incumbent is the key user in JDE for the fixed asset module. This includes creating assets, reviewing fixed asset depreciation schedules, and disposal of fixed assets. Posting monthly fixed asset financial movements and reporting of these movements are key priorities.

Responsibilities and Key Duties:

Capital Projects and Fixed Assets Maintenance

  • Track and report all projects, including all invoice details. Monitor capital spending for proper accounting treatment under US GAAP.
  • Manage CIP inflow & outflow through the Construction In Progress (CIP) reconciliation tracker.
  • Reconcile JDE sub-ledger and maintenance software (CMMS) for all fixed assets.
  • Create, dispose, and transfer assets in ERP system.

Reporting

  • Prepare monthly accounting reconciliations for all asset accounts and capital projects.
  • Prepare monthly reports for FAs & CIP movements. Build and maintain reports for both high-level reporting to corporate and local level reporting on a project-by-project basis.
  • Review and approve all incoming CEARs (capital requests).
  • Prepare supporting materials for internal and external audit.
  • Responsible for Capex C-Buy integration and consistency of data across systems.

Fixed Asset Inventory

  • Coordinate FA physical inventory on a three-year rotation.
  • Coordinate with maintenance and campus personnel tagging of FAs.
  • Maintain movements of FAs in the JDE FA module.

Business-to-Accounting Liaison

  • Build relationships with Maintenance and Facilities teams to coordinate FA processes.
  • Work with project teams to ensure FA policies are being followed.

Compliance - Applying an understanding of key legal precedents, policies, and practices to protect the interests of the organization and individual employees OR Compliance with applicable rules and regulations in management and/or operations.

Qualifications:

Education – Bachelor of Business in Accounting

Work Experience – 5 years of general accounting or 1 to 3 years of fixed asset accounting experience.

ERP system experience a plus.

Solid understanding of fixed asset accounting.

Excellent written or verbal communication skills.

Expert in Excel.

Highly organized, very detailed, and comfortable managing various projects.

Results oriented, can recommend process improvements, and can execute plants to completion.

Strong team player who can work independently.

Physical Requirements:

Must possess the ability to read, understand, and speak English. Must be able to see and hear.

Working Conditions:

Ability to work remotely two days per week. Standard office setting.

Travel Required:

Travel intermittent to other US Ceva locations as physical inventory requires, up to 10%.
